Leigh Wood to reportedly face Léo Santa Cruz next

According to ESPN’s Salvador Rodriguez, Nottingham featherweight Leigh Wood will now face WBA champion Léo Santa Cruz next as opposed to Mexico’s Mauricio Lara.

Wood was initially scheduled to take on Lara at the Nottingham Arena on 24th September before injury forced the bout to be postponed. Santa Cruz was also set to unify with WBC champion Rey Vargas but now looks set to defend against WBA ‘regular’ champion Wood next.
